The media could not be loaded.This is the only bike bell I’ve ever purchased and used, and it’s great for my purpose, which is primarily riding my bike on paved trails intended for recreational walking and cycling, and occasionally ringing the bell when approaching someone from behind. I wanted a smaller, no-plastic bell with a friendly, classic ring sound which this delivers; see photo/video for scale and sound.Important info: I needed this to mount on the left side, since my shifter is on the right. The product photos look as though it can be mounted on either side, but in order to install it so that my thumb could push the lever, I needed to take the bell apart and reverse the inner mechanism. If you intend to install on the right, this will not be an issue.The exterior is all metal, including the part that mounts onto the handlebar, which I appreciate, but I added a small piece of rubber between the handlebar and the mounting piece to prevent any rattling or scratching, and to further stabilize it when the lever is pushed.The minor hassle of dismantling the bell to adapt it to left-hand use was not enough to reduce my review from 5 stars, given its affordability and all-metal construction, along with the ringing sound I wanted in a smaller size.
